What Sets Us Apart

We believe there are a number of things that set us apart from other natural herbal lotions. Our organic herbal blends combined with therapeutic levels of MSM and Magnesium Oil bring an added dimension of relief. A great deal of research, careful thought and testing has gone into designing the entire line of Resonant Botanicals products. Our lotion products are scientifically designed to bring immediate relief and long term cumulative improvement.

Why infuse herbs?
Steeping herbs in an oil such as grape seed or olive oil is a great way to extract all the beneficial properties of those herbs. We steep our herbs for six weeks, and carefully strain the oil for use as the heart and soul of our products.

Each product we offer has a dedicated steeping tank with a targeted set of herbs. The process of steeping for such a long period of time slows down the production process considerably, but this is worth the wait as it sets our products apart from almost all the other natural skin care products in the market.

Why We Use Brushed Aluminum Bottles made in the USA
WARNING: Skip this section if you don’t like to read boring scientific stuff or be grossed out! The short story is lotions in plastic bottles are bad for you. Read on if you want to know why.

Our products are made with all organic ingredients and we’ve chosen to market the lotions in Aluminum bottles to protect the nature of the product and our customers. It’s common practice, and a lot cheaper, to use plastic bottles (specifically PET, or polyethylene terephthalate). But using plastic enables a phenomenon called ‘phthalate leach’, which is quite dangerous to our bodies.

What are phthalates?
Phthalates are plasticizers or dispersants and are additives that increase the plasticity or fluidity of a plastic. Unfortunately, the majority of plasticizing agents break down over time and when heated, thus leaching fine powder particles which are deposited on all surfaces (2).

Let me explain: At temperatures as low as 86 degrees Fahrenheit, the molecules making up the plastic bottle begin to separate from the bottle and become part of the liquid that gets poured into the bottle. In order to effectively pour a lotion, it has to be poured at a temperature of at least 130 degrees, and that liberates a much larger mass of the phthalates(1).

Why is this a concern?
Some phthalates are reproductive and developmental toxicants in animals and suspected endocrine disruptors in humans. The level of phthalates tests higher in children than adults, so their reactions can be even more profound. Phthalates are also unrecognized by our bodies and are stored in fat tissue as well as causing resistance to insulin.

A Danger to Babies
Phthalates also get absorbed by the developing fetus and this undoubtedly presents the largest danger. AGD, or Anogenital distance is the distance from the perineum to the anus and this distance can vary a lot in males. There is evidence to suggest that a shorter AGD in neonatal males leads to adult reproductive disorders, such as lowered sperm counts and testicular tumors, and having exposure to phthalates during gestation makes a male newborn 90 times more susceptible to these adult reproductive disorders (3)!!
